Long Beach, Calif., September 25, 2008 - Today, the Long Beach Jr. Chamber announced that the Miss Long Beach Pageant, operated by the LBJC since 1950, will begin the framework to become its own 501(c) 3 to further the growth and development of the philanthropic event. "Throughout the past 50 years we have helped guide the Miss Long Beach Pageant to become one of the finest scholarship programs for young women in the city,” says Jennifer Moore, Director of Public Relations, Long Beach Jr. Chamber. “We are extremely proud of the pageant's accomplishments but realize it is time for it to expand and take the next step to be a continued success within the Long Beach community." The LBJC will now take an active role in assisting a new or existing local 501(c) (3) to make the Miss Long Beach Pageant an entity of its own. If your group is interested in this exciting opportunity, please contact the LBJC at (866) JAYCEES.
